leaking transmission fluid question?
i recently changed my transmission fluid for the first time and got under the car and everything was coated in transmission fluid. So i drain it and less than half a quart comes out. I put the drain plug in [which BTW threw me off because it had like a plastic washer on it] and filled it with the recommended 2.3 quarts of Honda MTF. i drive it around for a while and park it what do you know its leaking so i figured it was the plastic washer[call me stupid for reusing it but i didn't know otherwise]. I ordered password JDM magnetic drain plug set and swapped out the drain plugs. drive it and I'm thinking i shouldn't be able to smell tranny fluid right? so i park it and still its leaking but its not the drain plug or the transmission gasket. were else could it be leaking from?
thanks for any help btw its an ls with a gsr 5 speed i think s80 trans

i know autozone had them in stock for me when i got mine it was like 5 bucks a piece. when you install them make sure you dont put them in too far or they will still leak.

Re: leaking transmission fluid question?
I have a leak in the same place. Recently replaced the axles. My Haynes manual doesn't go through the procedure to replace the seals. I assume it's like any other seal, but can you get to them easily with the axles removed?
Thanks,
Ron

Re: leaking transmission fluid question?
They're pretty easy to replace. I used a seal remover tool to get the oil seals out. It made it a lot easier than prying them off with a screwdriver. On the driver side, I used a long piece of wood to push in the seal.

what i ment by dont push them in too far is you can put them way into the hole. you only want them to be flush with the outside of the case
