leaking oil from spark plug cover bolts is it possible or do I have another problem??

Default leaking oil from spark plug cover bolts is it possible or do I have another problem??

this is a jdm b16 when i took off my spark plug cover the 4 bolts that hold it down were kinda lose and it looked like oil seeped threw i mean they werent super lose but not tight either. i pulled all the plugs and no oil what so ever just nice clean ngks and magnacore 8.55mm wires

Now i've ever taken a valve cover off but do those 4 bolts that hodl the spark plug cover on lead to inside the head?? and if hey do what are the torque specs,

they just hold the spark plug cover.....probaly while somebody pour in oil and it just seeps onto the bolts..and just tighten down dont crank it all the way u'll strip them..

are all the rubber groments on? there thick o rings that go on underneath the plug wire cover?

if its leaking around the bolts then the rubber seals on the bolts are old/damaged/worn out replace them.... or if your cheap you can always just get some silicone around the holes/bolts and tighten them down.... should work as long as ya clean the built up oil off bolt/seals.


if its leaking around the spark plug wires themselves then the oil seals on the valve cover are probably just damaged... just remove the valve cover and replace all 4. they are alittle hard to get out but just work at it with a screw driver or pick and pull them out the bottom.
