Leak down test help
I have a b16 and want to do a leak down test. I was told I need to find TDC for each cylinder when doing the test. I am not 100% sure how to do this or the test. Does anyone have instructions on how to do this?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Leak down test help
Take the spark plug out of the cylinder you want to test, put a long object inside the spark plug hole...it will be resting on top of the piston. Now turn the crank by hand and watch the long object rise up until it's at it's highest point. Hook up your pressure gauges to the cylinder and test...if you hear rushing air, you're on the exhaust stroke and not the compression stroke and you'll need to turn the crank again until the piston rises to the top again. Repeat and note your readings.
