Default Koni Yellow Interchangeability

Ok, I have a set of Koni Yellows that came off my 99 EK, and I am planning on using them on a 92 CX w/ GC coilovers. My question is, will these bolt right up or will there be any problems? According to Koni's site, the part numbers for the front shocks on EG's and EK's are identical - 8041-1152, but the rear shock part numbers are different: 8041-1153 for the EG and 8041-1213 for the EK. Anyone have any input on this?

You will need different rear LCAs.

Konis for 92-95 Civics and 94-01 Integras are exactly the same all around. You will be fine.

Maybe I'm wrong, as I don't own a 96+ Civic, but aren't their LCAs a different length than 92-95 Civics and 94-01 Integras?

correct me if i'm wrong... i heard the front ones would fit on '92-'95 if u use '96-'00 front forks... don't know about the rear ones... but i don't think the rear shocks will fit... hope this helps...

I'll set it straight:

I have EK Konis on my EG/EH hatch.

The front bolt directly up with nodifferences whatsoever, BUT the rears require modification to your Civic's or Integra lower control arms.

The EK-style struts has a thinner bottom fork, so you must get a grinder or a ziz-wheel and cut some thin slices off of the lower control arms bushings where the lower strut fork slides over it.

In my case I was using Energy Sus bushings, so I simply trimmed my bushings down on a bandsaw.

That should settle it.

Suspension geometry (and thus LCA length) is the same across all 94-01 Integras and 92-00 Civics. It's just the LCA bushings.

Oops I got mixed, you have 99 Civic Koni shocks now, so yeah you'll have to trim the bushings in the GS-R LCA's to get them to fit.

Well that's not too big of a deal. Now I know what to expect. Thanks for the input guys.
