Default Knock Sensor Wiring

Ok i did a search and read that the blue wire goes to the knock sensor pin on the ecu. but my question is, does the black wire go to the ecu also or is it a ground wire. and if it is a ground wire, where do you guys typically ground it?

btw this is for a y7/y8 mini me

I dont think you have the right sensor.

The knock sensor is a 1P sensor. And that plugs into the ecu. Take a pic of what your looking at. The Knock is under the manifold between cylinder 2 and 3

The knock sensor is 1 wire. In your case (obd2b) it goes to the c3 pin location. You may have it mixed up w/ an IAT plug somehow.

You can use the plug you have but, make sure the wire that will come in contact w/ the pin(in the KS) is the wire you are running to the ECU. Alot of the plugs (i.e. IAT,KS,CTS, IACV etc.) have the same design.

does anyone know which wire would come in contact with the pin?

Look at the KS. It will look like an IAT plug but, it will only have one metal prong sticking out of it. Whichever side of the plug comes into contact w/ the pin is the wire that should be ran to the ECU. It's very simple.

Try them both, The one that doesn't throw a CEL is the right one. You need Trouble shooting 101

tap both wires to one and run it to the ecu if you don't want to figure out which one goes to the pin on the ksensor
