KEYLESS ENTRY wont work on my 97 civic ex
i bought a 97 civic ex. it came with a aftermarket cd player and i knwo the 97's are supossed to have factory keyless in them. the kid didnt give me any remotes so i bought a new one to program. i know the keyless runs through the factory radio, and i was wondering how i could get around it so i can program my new remote to work with the aftermarket cd player? thanks

Going to have to retain the stock radio somehow.

Circuit city and best buy sells a 1 in <=> 2 out harness for this function. U can wire your factory box and stilll have your aftermarket stereo. Good luck

Yep, pretty much any stereo shop could get you one of those harnesses. Just ask them for the harness for a 1996-1998 Honda Civic that lets you keep the keyless when you put in an aftermarket radio. They should know what you're talking about.

I feel it's better at this point just to buy a regular aftermarket alarm system with keyless entry.
This way you kill 2 birds with one stone.
I have the same issue, but as somebody stole my door lock control module, henceforth I have no power door locks, it doesn't matter anyway.

If you need a stock radio I have one for the cost of shipping. but if I were you I would just go and get an alarm put on it. That's what I did...well, I put it in myself. Anyway, the offer's on the table.
