my friend has a 97 2 dr civic. Very soon after having a cd player installed when she got into her car the dome light started to flash and both doors locked. Since then her factory keyless entry has not worked. whats the prob?

I think the 96-98 models have their keyless entry systems integrated with the stock radio. Removing or replacing it removes the option.

http://www.installdr.com Just go and choose the year/make/model and it'll explain how to retain the keyless entry portion as well as keeping the aftermarket radio intact.

Ive got a 98 civic ex and it does indeed have the keyless sytem in the stock stereo. However mine simply doesn't work with the cd player I put in. it doesn't blink and lock the doors. Thats kind of odd.
