Last night i installed a sony xplod head unit in place of the stock one in my 97 civic ex and now my keyless entry does not work . I think its the headunit causing this...does anyone know how to fix it?

searching would have told you that you need to have the oem deck powered up and still connected to the green harness
you need a special dual harness just for this purpose.
Put the stock deck behind the dash

Wire taps are your friend. Or like pdiggity said, get the splitter harness. Either way you're going to have to keep the stock deck in there. Wrap the ****** up in some rags and shove it behind your dash so it doesn't make any ratteling noise.

you guys are silly... there's a better way to install the HU and retain OEM keyless without shoving the factory radio behind the dash
I just ran 4 wires (power, ground, dimmer, and ignition) to the factory radio from the main harness, which connects to my Clarion MP3 player... It still lights up and everything, keyless still retained, but no sound comes out of it....
All I did was use some terminal connectors in place of the whole PIN unit...

Take a look through his watched topics and see what he actually posts. I have YET to see an informative post.

actually, if you leave it like I have it (with the stock radio up top), it doesn't look like there's a system in the car, which means less break-in potencial....
but thats right, we shouldn't touch cars...
