Key remote not working properly
Hi guys. Having problems here with my remote. My honda is the model from 96-2001, I can open the doors with the remote but I can't lock it, have to use the key. Was thinking to pop in some scrap yard and find the key fob and receiver, what you guys think? It can work?

Can't lock which door? The drivers side door does this specifically so you cannot lock your keys in your car. Supposedly you can lift up the handle and it will work. That's what I've read.

i think he is talking about a remote not his door power locking door mechanism.
ask people in your area for places that do car audio and security services. dont take it to a major commercial electronics place they over charge for service. take it to an independent shop and ask them to take a look. my remote security/starter system broke down this summer and i took it to a local shop where the guy was more than happy to take a look for free, he informed me system was very old and could not be fixed because the parts were discontinued so i bought a new 2 way compustar system and he charged me $400 installed.
worst case scenario you need a new system which for basic security/power locks will cost you a couple hundred pound. hope i helped

Re: Key remote not working properly
My Honda as I said previously is the model from 1996-03/2001. Here in UK, the model I have is 1.4 Sport 5 doors hatchback. I didn’t find yet the way how to post a pic of my car so here it goes a link of one civic the same as mine:

Another day I went to Honda dealer and I was told that they need to order a new remote and then to find some code somewhere around the mirror and then to make it work. The cost was around £300.00
As far I understood, the code can be found in that thing, receiver I think, near the mirror, that’s why I was wondering to get the receiver and the fob from any scrap yard in a hope that could work.
I’m not in a mood to spend that much so I guess I have to stick with the idea of using the keys
