any swap is going to be expensive no matter than power. not worth it especially for 160 hp with fake vtec. if you don't care how fast it is just put a d series back in there, or maybe an ls.

just tune your car so it idles good then!!!
expletive dude, why would you want a slower car just cause of an eratic idle??

fixing those problems will be cheaper than a k swap

im sure he means idle correctly as far as big cams make idle rough. kswaps are way to expensive still to actually want to do one as far as im concerned.
since noone answered your original question a kswap aith labor from a shop will run about 10k with motor and all. if you can do it yourself then cut a few thousand off. even still not worth it to me when you get basically build a 10 second hatch for 10k.

How is a K20a3 going to cost 10K? I have looked and the engine and trans would only be $20k and that was with a type s tranny. I think you could do it for cheap 5k-7k if you hunted for good deals on parts.

Re: (ek forever guy)
yeah i still don't think the k20 swap is worth that much money to break into the 14's maybe high 13's in a civic. it's just kinda kool to have one. 20k? just go buy a new rsx for 20k

Re: (twotonecivic)
most k20 swapped civics with tuning run mid 13's.
It's a reliable motor with lots of potential. It looks baller in the engine bay. Responds well to bolt ons.
I don't think I want one till I see how the Cable trannies in the k20's work out. I've never really liked cable trannys.
