K20 install prices..Need help.. already searched
i would like to know how much do you guys think most shops will charge to swap a K20r into a 99 EK hatch... also would it be cheaper to purchase everything sepreatly or go through the shop.reason for not attempting the swap my self is 1. done alot of swaps in the day and usually end up bad in the long run 2. want a wire tuck done 3. have the money to get thinkgs done profesionally. and if anyone knows any good shops in Nor cal would be great thanks

and it is going to cost a **** load. Even if you did it yourself, I have read it will cost alot. Must be nice to have that kind of money. Good luck

i know someone who spent 4 grand in labor getting his eg coupe k20r powered.
badass car but not worth that much money IMO... save up and buy good quality tools and learn to do it yourself. Its much better satisfaction sayin you did it yourself. Plus, you will also treat it alot better cause it pretty much becomes apart of you.

I spent 1250 in labor & :edited: WAY TOO MUCH in parts
plan on an addtional $400-500 for tuning
(copy & pasted parts list)
Set up:
jdm k20a
hytech adjustable length header
*kteller 3" SS exhaust - not installed yet
RBC intake manifold w/Speedwerx adapter plate
hondata intake manifold gasket
custom CAI piping (MOTO-C)
PrototypeRacing velocity stack w/K&N filter
Toda Flywheel (8.1 lb - chromoly)
Exedy stg2 cerametallic clutch
Hasport axles (stg1) *broke after 2 weeks replaced with DSS stg 3 axles*
Hasport mounts (ekk1)
hasport fan switch
Aeromotive FPR
custom fuel line set up (-6an aeroquip startlite lines, earls ano-tuff fittings, earls fuel filter, marshall shock proof FP gauge)
golden eagle fuel rail
walbro 195 fuel pump
C&R 1/2size radiator w/Karcepts mount *being replaced with custom PWR K-swap radiator
Spal 1200cfm 12" slim fan
K-pro
Karcepts shift kit
Suja-1 motoring custom clutch line
RSX-S clutch slave cylinder
ep3 ('02-'05 si) idler pulley
autozone 50.5" 7-rib belt
carbing oil catch can

damn thats a pretty big parts list... i was just planniing on just the swap proably headers intake and mounts..then build up slowly... so with the swap by itself and plus labor and tunning how much am i looking at.... also do you think it is worth it..or should i just stick with my B18c-5
