Just Thought i'd point this out. EK Swap GSR
When you do the swap. Definitely look into buying the fuel pump for the gsr or a walbro unit because the Stock Fuel pump in the 96-00 Civic DX won't cut it. driving around i felt it wasn't producing the power that it should be. so i swapped the fuel pump for a walbro unit. and now i can feel the power kick in at 5k. Mind you this is a full OBD1 94 GS-R changed over to a OBD2 GS-R.
Base Vehicle: 98 Civic DX OBD2a
Mods Performed Prior to Engine Swap: Mini-Me D16Y8 Head.
Current: 98 Civic GS-R.

of course the A GS-R would not be too compatiable with a DX Fuel pump, You are upgrading your engine like 50 times than your DX engine, and the dx engine is using the fuel power that the dx engine needs, not the GS-R .. I would think the GS-R would need way more power than a DX .. Also never try to nickel and dime anything when it comes to cars, Just suck it up and save for that extra week or two...
I would imagine that your leaving the VTEC part of your engine a little dry .. Maybe thats why it's not producing the power you might want.

well at this point. vtec hits alot harder once i hit 5k. also got a Skunk2 Manifold bolted to it. so no iab's for me. still decent low-end power tho. I only mention the fuel pump because of all the thread's i'v read no one has mentioned changing the fuel pump.

Yeah bro, I understand buy Im pretty sure when they do a GS-R swap they usually use the GS-R externals ... I would. I would upgrade everything that had been from the dx.. Well not everything but you know what I mean..
Hows your DX?= SLEEPER haha.. Killing fools that spent 8k on their rides..

Stock civic fuel pump (in good working condition) is fine for a GSR swap. I had a JDM GSR in my ej1 ('93 civic coupe ex) with the stock pump and it ran fine. Boosted it and ran a few months just fine (a little lean tho). Needless to say, if a stock civic pump can feed a boosted gsr, then it will do fine for a stock non-boosted gsr. Either you are feeling placebo or your previous pump was failing.

Well the pump feed the single v-tec just fine tho. and from what i can tell someone already changed the fuel pump on my vehicle. (marks on ground wire, looks like someone struggled with it) either way. new fuel pump did some good.

guess it depends on what you plan to do later on with the car. and remember to never go on E with the walbro pump.

I am running my ex pump still and the only problem I have is that I have to let the pump cycle before I can start my car but when its running it seems fine

just a quick question.
running a walbro near E will hurt it? or running out of gas.
sorry, dumb question, just something i don't know.
