Default just installed new radiator - having issues with bleeding coolant system

I just installed an oem replacement radiator and im having issues with the coolant system. I have searched and cant find the help i need. Please help me h-t! its a 95 dx with b16a2. I filled the radiator with coolant and ran the car with heat on blast, the level never went down, I also unscewed what i believe to be a bleeder nipple near the upper radiator hose(nothing came out of it at all). still no change in level with the fluid in the radiator. I duno if im doing something wrong or if theres a problem. The fan doesnt turn on at all when doing this and after a few minutes i get the idle surging, which may be another issue in itself. please help me out

It doesn't sound like your doing anything wrong. the fan never comes on meaning your car overheats or are you just not giving the fan time to come on? the idle surging may be caused by the idle air control valve, or the fast idle thermo valve

i was under the impression that the fan was supposed to come on and then you put more coolant in it. but right now, the coolant is up to the top and stays there. the car gets to just about half way between hot and cold and thats it.

i had the idle problem in the past but it was gone for a while and just started up again the other day, so i was hoping there was just air in the coolant or something and it would be fixed when i replaced the radiator, but i will try to fix the idle problem after i make sure the coolant system is working right.

If the car runs and idles and doesnt get HOT, then does that mean that everything is cool with the coolant system and radiator?

the fan only comes on when the coolant gets to a certain temp. actually when your car gets to between hot and cold the fan should be kicking on and off, if its not over heating then everything should be fine

ok, now i am having an issue with overheating. Is it possible that my thermostat is not opening up? I think that my coolant is not even getting to the engine. does this sound possible to anyone? I am planning on getting a new thermostat from honda and replacing that. anyone with input?
