HELP!!!! overheating
Running a turbo'd b18c1 sleeved, bored out to a 2 liter.
Lately it's been overheating. if i drive with the heater on full blast it never gets to the little orange H. I'm not losing any coolant, there's no oil mixed with the coolant.
I've replaced the thermostat, replaced my radiator with a nice aftermarket one, checked my timing, replaced my radiator cap, checked the radiator fan (it comes on and blows fine).
I've run out of ideas, anyone have any suggestions?

Re: HELP!!!! overheating
have you bled the system? that was my problem. just have the car running with the radiator cap off and let the radiator fan cycle on about 3-4 times. and make sure you have the climate control on heat.

Re: HELP!!!! overheating
how long did you have the car running? each fan cycle should take a little while. i think it took 30-45 minutes when i bled my system.

Re: HELP!!!! overheating
the car was already pretty close to warmed up when i started, i just left it running long enough for the fan to cycle on and off 4 times, was maybe 20 minutes?

Re: HELP!!!! overheating
it does still overheat as i said above. Only suggestion i have to go on now is i found a post where someone was flaming the thermostats sold by the car parts chains, saying only OE honda thermostats work right. Any idea if there's any truth to this?

Re: HELP!!!! overheating
Well I'm using an autozone thermostat, and i haven't had any problems with it. Just make sure that the thermostat opens at the same temperature as oem thermostat specs. I would prefer getting a OE honda thermostat since nothing really beats oem quality.

Re: HELP!!!! overheating
If you have heat inside the car with the heater on then you probably don't have an air pocket. Remove the radiator cap and statrt the car. rev the motor quickly and see if you notice the coolant level dropping each time you rev it, if not you have a circulation problem. You said that you replaced the thermostat and radiatior already, you may have a waterpump problem. If you have determined that you have good circulation then see if you have constant bubbling while you watch the radiator with the cap off or does the antifreeze blow back out when you rev it. If so sounds like you have a blown headgasket.

Re: HELP!!!! overheating
OK, so, i took out my thermostat entirely, just wondering if this was the restriction in my cooling system, and it's not so i'll be reinstalling it when i figure out what the problem is. when the engine gets warm with the radiator cap off and i rev it it gets a little frothy but doesn't shoot out or anything. do you still think this could be a blown headgasket?
