I would double check all of your gaps.
Make sure that you are going through the proper procedure while adjusting valves.

did you make sure the cam was on base circle and not near any of the lobes. that will def. throw **** off. also did you adjust valves by yourself or you and a friend, cuz sometimes a gap that feels good to you coud feel totally diff to someelse. kind of helps keeping all valsev in synch.

i'm using the sticky... and following other stuff as well. everything is correct. the only thing i can think of is my gapping.

Well everyone has there own feel of "slight drag", but its not usually that big of a deal cause they give you a minimum and maximum measurement. They dont have to be perfectly on.
Did you go through and do #1 then turn the crank 180degrees counter clockwise, #3 then turn the crank, #4 then turn the crank, then #2?

Please make sure you adjust the vakves properly. First start with #1 at TDC, make sure the "UP" mark on the cam sproket is up and the other line on the sproket lines up with the mark on the timing cover, Intake should be .007-.009 on intake and Exhaust .009-.011 tghem cheap *** Discount/autozone feeler gauges are ****, get a macco feeler gauge it ACTUALKLY reads .007-.009 not just .008 etc...
Then rotate the sproket 180* till the word "up" is on the exhaust side, then do valves #2 again 180* "up" should now be facing down do #4 then 180* "up" should be facing intake side do #2 Slight drag!!

Ok, as long as your adjustments are good, you should be ok.
Let the motor completely cool down and recheck your clearences.

for some freakign reason, everything i finish adjusting... and turn the crank to check back at #1, my adjustments end up changing drastically. either too loose or tight of a gap
