Default just did the swap. few ?s and it is running rough

ok well my cuzin wrecked his eg 4 door with a ls swap. so he bought a eg hatch. i did the swap sunday had it runnin sunday. but it is running really rough. it has no exaust right now.it idles really bad like low and lowpey. like it has really big cams. and it will rev but it takes a min. for it to get any rpms up. and then when u let off the gas it wont rev back up. even if u hold it to the floor. the shell sat for prolly 1 year or longer. so my thought was bad gas so i got most of the gas out and put like a gallon of gas in it that i knew was good. it still ran bad.

i found a few plugs unpluged here are some discriptions.

all these wires are around the dizzy and intake mani.

1. round plug with 2 wires.
yellow wire with black stripe. and a red wire

2. squarish plug with one wire.
green wire with yellow stripe

3. squarish plug with two wires
green wire with black stripe. and a yellow wire.

thanks for any help.

for the rough idle, replace your pcv valve, the one thing many overlook.

pcv valve? the motor was in the four door and ran great. so i dont think it needs a pcv valve. but thanks for the input. come on ppl help me out

the rough idle is related to the not reving. i really think it is related to the bad gas, but i was just wonderin where all those wires went. thanks

another common problem is to check for loose/broken/or unconnected vaccuum hoses. Those connectors sound like air/fuel ragulating sensors, map/tps etc.

i think you missed connecting several plugs.

the aic, the tps and map are all important. if any of those are not connected, they need to be.

so you know the tps and map is hooked up right??try swapping them for ***** and giggles! also... check on your firewall to see if ithas another plug for the map sensor. some eg civics brought the map sensor on the firewall. and i had a civic with that and also the engine harness with the swap came with a map on it.and it ran rough without the plug that comes with the car hooked up i just left the map sensor from the engine harness hanging there... just a thought

Do you have a helms? If so just go through it step by step and make sure that you've done everything. You might think you've got everything, but unless the motor all of a sudden died, then what else could it be?

oh believe me it could totally be there lol i believe i had that deal on a dx coupe and a dx hatch..what it is the stock single cam TB brought a vaccum line where the map should be and the little vaccum goes from there to a firewall mounted MAP sensor.lmk if you get it going and if not i could keep helping ya out... also those plugs that your talking about sound like the ones that go on the head under the dist... lmk hope this helps

yea its something like the efs and das.

as for knowing about 93??i dunno dude do a search for it. honestly i never thought about it being a car specific thing. i had a 94 cx hatch and i believe it was on the firewall but i dont remember i have had too many cars by now... but as a matter of fact i do remember that in my 94 civic coupe it had the map on the firewall. and i sold it to this dude as a shell and he called me to go help him because the motor ran funny. i got there, and all i did wasunplug the map from the harness and plug in the map from the car to it and it ran PERFECT.

i also bought this hatch one time and the guy told me it didnt run good. that one was actually drivable but it ran rough and idled stupid.i didnt know much back then but i was young and didnt have **** to do so i started cleaning my engine bay one day and noticed 3 wires without that black cover just ran to my corner light..i took off the corner light and found the plug for a map sensor just hanging there. turns out the motor was out of a del sol which brought just the little vaccum hose on the TB and when they got the shell it didnt have the map mounted on the firewall and i guess didnt know **** neither. a friend let me have a LS TB and after i swapped it out and plugged it in. it ran GREAT!!

sorry bout all the stories but im bored and i love to think about the old times

hope this helps you out some though
