Your d series is another man's type R... Seriously... Everyone that comes into this thread will recommend something different. Do your homework and build it however the hell YOU want it. Don't ask us to plan your build for you.

I wouldnt have paid a grand for that, but thats just me. Im aware that it has a thrown rod... I'm just saying... Everyone has their opinions on engines, so you shouldnt take someones opinion to realize that its not what you expected....

Re: just bought shell Now to plan build
Good luck to you, if you want power, the cheapest way is an h series with boost. K series will cost you about 6-8K+ before boost. Around here you can get a complete h series swap for under 2k. Its a little heavier but you do have a four door. If you piece your parts together price wise i bet you could have a boosted h-series that meets your hp goals for around 4k.

OK the choice has been made platform one will be a boosted D series.
ECONO-power
now to find a donor motor
what would be a good price range to stay in for a donor? im in newyork
and what engine code would be best for boost.
i have heard that the stock rods are limited and a 440cc injector will be reaching top duty cycle for the 300 mark.
im looking to possible build the block thats in the car if the damage inside isnt to bad.
