Just bought a new hatch - no power and high surging idle
So I just bought a new hatch the other day. It has a single cam d15b2 bottom end but dont know which head is on this. Also it feels like it barely has any power when push gas hard like its climbing bad or something. Could this be a spark issue, fuel,or compression I have no clue what it is so any help would sure be appreciated. Is there a way to tell which head and intake manifold are on this? It also idles to high how do I change this?

Is it just idling high or idle surging? If its just a high idle it sounds like it may be a vacuum leak.

Yea the idleing is surging up and down. There are 2 different numbers on the head dont know which one ya need 510101412 - p2j-4. Sorry bout not posting whats wrong with it. This is my first post on here. Also the car just feels like it has no power and I think he said its a mini me swap I did see a vtec syl. but not sure which head it is.

I found it thanks guys its a 97 d16y8 head. It just does not feel like a mini me it has like major power loss compared to my other friends mini me swaps. I just purchased this and know it shouldnt be running this slow.

It looks like there is a wire for it going from sylinoid to computer. It is bogging down bad and idle surging, but then sometimes after a few min. at a red light it will run just fine and idle normal. Not sure if this car has had a tune up or not could that be the problem. I did drive it earlier and heard vtec engage. So vtec is working but motor is really sluggish.

If it looks like it hasnt had one in awhile, its definitly time for a tune up. And that can be a problem
