Hey Guys, Hope you guys can help me out. I just picked up a motor and have a few question:

If my car is a 96 EK and the motor has a 9/5 stampe on it, can I still register the car and pass smog with it, since all motor is shipped out a year after it's being made, so the motor would be like a 96 Integra car.

so Far the motor looks legit, and it has a VIN number on the block. I can assume that this is a 96 and up motor, and most importantly how do I check to see if the motor is legit to put in my car. I was kind of suspicous because the number below the engraving that say B18B1 does not match any part on the VIN.

I heard running car fax does and doesn't tell you anything about the motor be stolen, so i just want to be sure. Thanks for your time guys.. Later.

maybe you should've checked that before you bought the motor. to help you answer your question, the only way i've heard of to check if its been stolen is to bring the motor to the authorities and have them check it. so if it's stolen they can confiscate it. also the block number will not have matching numbers with the VIN.
