i just got this motor as a replacement for my D16Z6 only JDM. anyone know whether its 1.5 or 1.6? Stronger motor than Z6? Hit me back with some info.

ZC was 1.6l engine from 88-91? Not sure the exact years. It was non-VTEC actually and 130hp.

in Japan, Honda stamped their D-series 1.6L motors as ZC.

there are three ZC motors.

JDM SOHC non-VTEC ZC
JDM SOHC VTEC ZC
JDM DOHC non-VTEC ZC

as for the OBD's, i don't know, so somebody can clear that part up.

There were OBD1 DOHC ZC's and OBD0 ones as well.... actually I believe they all came in both OBD's

I had one more question on the zc. after swapping out the Z6 i noticed that 5th gear sucks @#$! no power or torque. Anything i should check out. i know the syncros are bad in the tranny but dont think it would affect that.

ZC is pretty much a high performance Dseries engine.

ok the JDM ZC SOHC VTEC is ... 1.6l that has 140 hp.. i have the website where u can buy one.. and i already have one in my engine.. the guy i bought the car off of .. gave it to me for free


but yea.. its a 1.6l engine.. 140hp.. not sure on the torque yet.. and if u want that link here it is!

beneath the head, near the exhaust manifold there should be a barcode sticker, right beside it is the engine code engraved on the block. but i think you got the sohc zc 1.5 litre which is rated at 130 ps
