I am selling my exhaust I bought b/c it is too damn loud and I am sick of not being able to talk on my phone in my car or listen to my music at a reasonable volume. I want something quiet but not completely stock. I am thinking about a JDM ITR OEM Muffler but obviously not going to buy one until I hear how it sounds. Ideally I want an exhaust that is pretty quiet but makes a little noise when I am hovering near the red line. I've searched this site and youtube and can't find it at all. Help please.

Mugen TL definitely has a nice quiet tone, but speaks up when you get on it. Keep in mind that the JDM components are different lengths (as well as pipe diameter) when compared to US market components. There's a few threads that discuss the differences. you might search them if you are curious.

Why would anyone make a sound clip of an OEM exhaust? JDM muffler = USDM muffler.

I moved this to the 1992-2000 Civic forum because the muffler is going to sound quite differnt on that application. The midpipe and resonator selection will also affect the sound.

The ITR forum focuses on ITRs. The B18C1 is going to have a very different sound than a D16 with the same muffler.

I have a mugen twin loop on my eg hatch with a vibrant resonator, and a friend has a DC with an ITR muffler if you want a sound clip

What kind of sound are you expecting on a single cam? There's videos on youtube. Learn how to search. I have a GSR hatch with ITR exhaust system. It sounds like stock.

just bought a used ITR oem exhaust...

a stock exhaust new is way more than i'm paying for this one so w/e figured at the very least it has a nicer looking stainless steel tip

Go to Advance Auto and get the biggest (longest) Thrush Turbo muffler you can find. Should be $25, then have someone weld it on.

Sounds like stock, a little louder than stock when you romp on it.
