Default magnaflow too damn loud

hey out there I have an HKS dragger exhaust system on my car with B16. It is 2.5" with a cat and resonator. The jasma muffler, which sounded awesome died so I replaced it with a magnaflow unit. So very loud now I hate it. I was thinking of getting a silencer but this might defeat the purpose of having a nice exhaust system to begin with. Or, I could try another muffler. Any ideas on good fitting, rather quiet mufflers in 2.5? I don't want to buy mugen or some other overpriced piece. Ideas on silencers? Thanks.

... or you could just replace it with the one you had before. You know it sounds good, so get another one.

hm thanks for the replies n info on HPR. I would replace the jasma muffler but its from Japan... Hard to find here and expensive if you do. Jasma makes mugen and other big name JDM products as far as I know. I know alot of people like the apexi mufflers, but I don't want the 4" pipe out back. What I like about the magnaflow unit is its nice fit and low key appearance... Just too loud. I'm a see what flowmaster has to offer.

i had a magnaflow for a turbo and it was fairly quiet and sounded pretty nice and looked stock it was a oval and i got a monza tip welded on it so you couldnt see it since it was black all you could see was just the chrome tip

JASMA is NOT a manufacturer of any kind. The little JASMA plate just means that the exhaust conforms to the JASMA noise pollution standards. It's just like saying your AEM intake is made by CARB.

huh. Good to know. So Jasma is not a brand. I wonder who made that muffler from the HKS system it was great.

I understand that Vibrant makes a great street muffler. It's a matte black one that's really low pro, comes 2.5" and 3" I THINK. They sound great, look sweet, and don't grab unnecessary attention. A little from all the columns.
