Default JDM ITR/CTR Shift **** Install: Will **** and boot be attached?

I will be installing a titanium JDM ITR/CTR shift **** this week along with a CTR shift boot with red stiching. These are the parts I have:

1. ITR/CTR titanium shift ****
2. Locking nut for shift ****
3. CTR leather shift boot w/ red stiching

I noticed that the factory USDM Civic shift ***** have retaining tabs that hold the shift boot to the ****, while the JDM **** doesn't have those tabs.

I have the following questions:

1. Do JDM ITRs and CTRs just come with the **** and boot detached from the factory, or are they connected some way?

2. If they do come connected from the factory, what part do I need to make my shift ****/shift boot setup identical to that of a JDM ITR/CTR?

3. I notice that S2000s have similar shift *****. Do S2000 shift ***** connect to the shift boots? If so, how are they connected?

I want the **** to be connected to the boot, but only by using honda parts. I don't want to use rubber bands or any ghetto rig method. Thanks!

In my car I am using a civic R shift boot with a skunk2 **** so my setup is very similar to yours. I wanted the shift boot to come right up to the bottom of the ****. I put the little nut on to keep the **** in place and the plastic part at the top of the boot goes right around it. To keep it up there I just used some electrical tape on the shifter. It may be ghetto but you can't see it.

On the civic type R the shift boot doesn't come all the way up to the **** it sits a little below.

So let me get this straight. You wrap the tape around the shift lever directly underneath the shift boot, increasing the diameter right underneath the shift **** so the boot wouldn't fall? Doing this requires me to remove the shift boot, right?

Also, I notice that the S2000 has a very similar shift ****. Does the S2000 **** connect to the boot or does the boot sit below the ****? If they connect, how do they connect in an S2000 and can the same part be used on a Civic?

Yep, you have to take the boot off. I just wrapped the electrical tape around the shifter a couple times when I was putting the boot on. I put the shift boot over the shifter and screwed the shift **** on so I could see where the tape needed to go. As far as the s2000 I'm not sure if the boot touches the ****. On most honda's the shifter just gets fatter and the boot can't go any further down.

My shifter is detached. I like it better that way. I'm running Skunk2 short shift and ****. When I had my mugen ****, you couldn't see the short shifter since the **** rested at a lower level.

How do you install the Mugen shift ****? I also have a Mugen shift **** laying around, and it has not threads inside. Do you need glue or something?
