i have an obd2 d15b non vtec w/ serial numbers:
block: D15b 2842426
tranny: s40-1198035
head: p2a-2 602270394

trying to swap this into a 97 dx coupe what year and car was this engine in, so i know what parts to buy because most of the d15b7 parts wont fit. thanks.

Seems to roughly correspond to the Australian D16Y4. At least in terms of the head code. But that really doesn't help you very much. My guess would be to use parts from a D16Y7 and/or D16Y8. For timing belts I highly suspect the timing belt will be from either a D16Y7/D16Y8/D16Z6 (104 teeth) or more likely a D15Z1 (103 teeth found in the VX hatchback). Pictures might help.

thanks guys. any info on this engine would be helpful
and im pretty sure d15b is supposed to have a vtec head but mine doesnt.
i will post pics as soon as possible, maybe tomorrow.

There are several differnt D15Bs

Pre OBD Dual Carbed D15B
OBD1 D15B Vtec
OBD1 D15B Vtec-e
OBD2 D15B 3 stage Vtec
OBD2 D15B non vtec (this would be yours and I was unaware it even existed until tonight.
