Default JDM B18c Type R into EG ?

Hey HT, this will pop my cherry swapping in B-series so I am looking to do it right the first time around. I am thinking of purchasing a JDM B18C Type R motor, and throwing it into my 92 civic DX 5spd stock D15b7 . I found this motor on Craigslist, and it looks to be a really clean drop in swap for a good price. The motor does not come with injectors, and the guy suggests i get a new oil pan. The person who is selling the motor will be giving me a EG, & EK harness along with it, the wiring harness is removed from the motor !

JDM b18c includes
-all mounts
-matching transmission still connected
-P28 ECU
-shift linkage/shifter
-Ebay B-series headers+gasket ?
-EK & EG harness
-And whatever else you see in the photos

1. I found this "https://honda-tech.com/hybrid-engine-swaps-18/definitive-guide-gsr-eg-swap-2976738/" Is this any different from doing a ITR swap ?

2. Since the wiring harness is out of the B18C am I able to use my wiring harness from the d15b7 ? Is it hard to wire up ? any DIYS ? I hear things about wiring up the knock senor, VTEC, and things like that.

3. What kind of injectors should I get ? I plan on using this for my daily.

4. Will a gsr oil pan work or will I have to get ITR ?

5. Any tips on doing the swap ? Tools, things to look for, etc...
I do not have access to a pneumatic system

Thank you in advance, and I appreciate any help.

1. Nope, the swap is pretty much the same. The GSR has one extra plug underneath the intake manifold for IAB, but the ITR doesn't have that, so disregard that one step.

2. Use the ITR harness, it'll plug into your car.

3. Get GSR, ITR, or B16A Civic Si injectors, they have to be from an OBD2 car if you want to use the ITR wire harness. If you want OBD1 injectors, you'll have to cut the injector plugs off of your original wire harness and splice them into the ITR harness or buy conversion harnesses for $10.00 which can be found here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/171298381243?lpid=82&chn=ps

4. GSR and ITR oil pan are the same.

5. Yeah, here's a few tips:

a) You're missing the L bracket on the rear, you need to buy one.
b) I don't see any shift linkage in that picture, you'll have to buy them.
c) Find out your local laws and see if they track engines by serial number. California does this, I don't know if your state does or not. If they do, then take the serial number (located below the B18C stamp) and call the local police to check and see if the engine is stolen or not. If stolen, you'll have to give the cops details on it's location and if not, then you're good to go.
d) You're probably going to want an air compressor with air gun to remove & install your axle nuts.

I am not sure what your harness problem is, but here is what I know from having done this swap before:
- The JDM B18C-R engine harness will not work. 2 of the shock tower connectors will be on the wrong side.
- Don't try what I tried (extended the JDM harness to go on the opposite side). It will not work.
- Not sure what the EK & EG engine harness deal is about. You need to match the engine harness to the engine, not the chassis.
- What I ended up doing is getting a non-VTEC B18 harness and added in the VTEC solenoid wire taken from the JDM harness. Worked on the first try. Note that the JDM B18C-R only requires 1 wire to wire up the VTEC. It does not have the oil pressure switch like the USDM B18C5 has. The only difference in wiring I had was the injector connectors (I am running OBD1, though, so I don't know if it matters). I ended up using a set of USDM B18C (GSR) injectors. They are the same flow-wise and have connectors that mate to the B18 harness.

Oh, you will also need an ITR throttle cable.

To make it easy on yourself get the following:

- US Type R OBD2 engine harness, it is plug & play with your chassis (2 extra plugs on the shock tower can dangle)
- US chipped OBD1 P28 ECU with Type-R programming (you won't need to add knock sensor wiring with this ECU)
- Del Sol DOHC VTEC P30 radiator w/ 32mm hose headerss (Koyo brand is around ~$120 now called Koyorad)
- Del Sol DOHC VTEC Radiator hoses (must be 32mm or 1.25inch diameter)
- 2 gallons of Blue Honda coolant
- OBD2 DOHC VTEC injectors
- P72 GSR/ITR oil pan
- Integra (black) or JDM ITR (gold) Shift linkage
- Some 3" intake
- You will have to have your stock cat modified to bolt to the header, or get a full 2.5" exhaust & cat.
