JDM b16A w/cable tranny into 92-95 hatch
Sorry for my simple question but I am stuck. Do I need to replace the cable tranny from my b16a(SIR1) for it to work with a 92-95 hatch? The engine part I know all to well, it's the tranny part I have trouble with.

If you are good at fabbing stuff, no. My techs did it in two days with my B17A. I wanted to use the 92-93 GSR trans because of the gear ratio. I think someone sells a kit now.

Try HAsport. They build a hydro/cable kit. I don't know how well it works though. Personally, I'd rather get a SiR II hydro instead. There's a lot of wiring differences also. So you gotta work on those connectors man if you go with the first gen B16.

If you are a pro with the engine, and it is just a question of getting the
tranny to work, then get the HAsport kit. Replacing cable trannies will be cheaper than the hydro ones for you if you burn through them. Some kids go through trannies like they change their undies. Well... maybe they change their undies less.

the wiring in a SiRI is going to be a bitch to get working in the 92-95 civic. Where the SiRII just bolts in and plugs all together and works. The price difference is about $500 - $1000 depending on where ya get the motor from....try to get the SiRII.

another thing you will have to do is find a 94 or 95 GSR distibutor....
and you can get a cable converter but i personaly would find a 94 or 95GSR or SiR hydro tranny they have nice gear ratios unless you are goin forced induction than go with a 94 95LS tranny.
