JDM B16 or Turbo D16z6?? need help deciding.
I was wondering how much boosting a d16z6 would cost and what power it would put down. I was considering doing it to mine but want to know how much it would run. Ive considered doing it "homemade" because ive heard bad things about kits. Show me some numbers and inform me on it. Which would be better boost or all motor swap???? My car is a 94 si hatch with 160,xxx on it.

I disagree.
I think you should go with the JDM B16. Although you may make more power initially, you're putting a limit on your streetable power potential. Once you turbo the D16Z, there's only a few more upgrades that you can reliably do w/o making the car a daily nucense instead of a daily driver.
The B16 is a factory motor. You're not going to have as high of potential for small, finicky problems right off the bat, and if you want to become even more serious with the car $3500 down the road, you can turbo the B16A and have an even more potent set-up.
Edit: With 160,000mi on the motor, I think it's due for a rebuild anyway. There's no sense in spending all the money on turbo just to blow up your engine. I'd give your ring lands a week before your car starts burning all kinds of oil.
Go with the swap.

yeah, search for the sohc vtec upgrade post. its got all u could ever need to know about sohc vtecs on there.
like the other guy said above, get ya a sohc non-vtec block (i used a y7) and rebuild ur head and do the turbo. if u do do the mini me setup hit me back up and i can help u out w/it cuz i just finished mine not too long ago.
