if you want to get a jdm D15B...and you live in the states...then http://www.hmotorsonline.com is a great place to buy from...real clean engines from what i've read and seen about them and fair prices too!

Forgive my lack of knowledge here. Will the engine you recommend fit the 1990 Civic hatch? Mine is 4 speed etc. Thanks beforehand

if all else fails, a B16 1st gen would rip in your car, also find out if you have a hydro or a cable tranny, that will be the deciding factor

Ive spent some time researching this. Ive got 1990 3 door hatch. Engine is STD 1.5 L TBI 16 valve 70HP 4 speed Manual.

Am I correct in saying I need a D15B1 Engine? Im confused because im seeing the B16A with higher HP and I think 5 speed manual. Would thois be a problem?

Remember Im a novice at this.

yeah man go with a different motor. b16 would be good. hmotorsonline.com would be perfect because they have complete swaps for sale and thats what your going to need if you're going that route

I dont think you would have any issues with a B16 swap for your car, it comes complete with everything, I mean you will pay around 700 for a D15B and all that, but for an extra 400$ you can have the tuning capability of a DOHC and a lot more power

it will come with 5 speed, just go check out hmotorsonline, they will list everything included with your swap, i think you might even get the option of an lsd tranny for like 300$ more, worth it in my opinion since just buying a lsd is like 800-1000$

the b16 will fit into your car but you will have to get some sort of mount kit and you will have to get front hubs/knucles/brakes off of a 89-91 hatch or rex, BUT the front brake stuff CAN NOT be from a HF or any 4 speed car. Yes the stuff is a direct bolt on you just need to find it thats all. (the reason behind this is because the axle spline is different on a hf and 4-speed car than the others, including b series axles)

you will also have to get custom shift linkage and you have a cable transmission and your car is obd0 so i would reccomend going with a SIR 1 engine (it is also an obd0 engine and it already comes with a cable transmission) you will need to get a throttle cable from a 90-93 integra that has a b series engine in it (the clutch release cable on an integra is longer)

and last but not least find someone that has done the swap before to help you otherwise you are in for a long road
