so im not too knowledgeable about hondas.

I bought a 2000 civic lx, which had a previous engine swap/trans swap to a auto hx.

so currently d16y5 in the car.

well i am throwing an cel code p1399- random misfire detected, blocked egr passage, valve clearance out of range.

problem is when looking at the engine there is no egr valve.
looked at the ecu i have 37820-p2e-a92, which is d16y7 i guess (lx?dx?)

so i dont know what to do to get rid of the cel to pass emissions.
swap ecu and wiring harness?

also whoever swapped the engine never hooked up the vtec-e
can i bypass the egr and keep the same ecu??
i am having rough low idle with sometimes stalling.
already did spark plugs rotor distributer wires etc.
already did o2 sensors and cat converter, complete exhaust

can someone break this down for me so i can get some better knowledge and understanding of whats going on here, if you need any more info just ask.

and no i didnt buy it knowing he swapped the engine, like i said i really dont know much about hondas

and how is it possible he didn't put an egr valve sorry if this is a stupid question i know obviously he just simply didn't put it, but wouldnt there be like a hole or something where it is supposed to be because i am not seeing ANYTHING

1399 isn't for EGR, that's just a possibility of the issue if your car had an EGR. Post pics of your engine as they probably reused the Y7 intake manifold.

Post the block and head codes.

You're using a p2e ecu, there is no egr control function on those ecu's. It basically looks like he swapped it in and re-used the dx/lx intake manifold. You're vtec-e is useless here because the previous owner didn't know what the hell he was thinking.
