ITR cams? Ctr cams? cam swap...
ive searched and found out peoples opinions on these cams.. also one of the question i have is, do both ctr and itr cams both have that grooves at the end of one of the cam shafts? or is it just ctr.. also i heard some one say that '97 & '98 itr cams are less agressive then 2K and '01? is that BS or true?
also
if some one can give me some pointers on installing cams and timing that would be much appriciated .. the only thing ive ever done my top end is valve adjustments, so when it comes to timing, tightening the belt, im clueless...

usdm 00-01 itr and ctr cams are identical and have the two grooves. they only have 3 degrees more duration than usdm 97-98 itr intake cams.
if you're contemplating doing a cam swap but dont know what you're doing, get a helms manual.

Re: ITR cams? Ctr cams? cam swap... (doood)
can way to tell if they are 00-01 ITR cams or CTR cams?
I dont want to get scammed. I can bring a digital caliper to measure it's dimensions if doing a pick up, but i need the measurements.

Not quite.
98-01 ITR cams have the same specs as CTR cams.

Re: (deckster333)
Are b16's exhaust close to the same as well. Im looking to do the same thing and I was wondering if i should just do the intake. Im not looking for crazy power just a little pick me up for the daily.

Re: (zachattack54)
yes the b16/gsr exhaust cam is pretty darn close to the itr/ctr, its a matter of 1-3 horsepower, and you can safely run just the intake cam with significant gains over b16/gsr stock intake cam.
If you want to run the exhaust cam you should upgrade to ITR dual valvesprings anyway and remember with the b16 valvetrain you can still only rev to your stock rev limit even though the intake cam makes power to 8,500...

Re: (HondamanXxX)
the itr/gsr exhaust cams are as different each other as their intake cams are, they're not the same. Just look up the specs guys. The difference in performance gains may be minimal, but the itr/ctr exhaust cam warrants a dual valve spring upgrade over the gsr stick.
