ITR calipers on a EJ8... *need confirmed answers*
So, theres been alot of this will work / no you need this type of information about this and I can't seem to get a straight answer.
Currently, I have gsr calipers / 10.3" rotors / ex knuckles.
I recently bought a set of ITR / CTR front calipers from JDM INSPIRED.
He claims they are a straight bolt setup, with the 23t bracket as seen here:
9:25 AM 3/28/2007) sk8shorty012: hey bro, just making sure these are bolt on (for the 99 civic ex) cause I talked a bud of mine he says you need a machined bracket...
(9:30 AM 3/28/2007) JDM INSPIRED: is comes with a 23T brackets and would bolt-on to your civic but depending on what size is your rotors you might just need spacers
(9:35 AM 3/28/2007) sk8shorty012: they are 10.3"...
(1:09 PM 3/28/2007) sk8shorty012: so, will it work with a 10.3" rotor then?
(4:34 PM 3/28/2007) JDM INSPIRED: yes it would
(6:04 PM 3/28/2007) sk8shorty012: alrighty then. I appreciate your help. Just let me know when you ship
(10:17 PM 3/28/2007) JDM INSPIRED: they would be ship out tomorrow thanks
(12:06 AM 4/2/2007) sk8shorty012: hey bro, im a little worried about these really being a straight bolt on... :
https://honda-tech.com/zerothre...66598
(12:37 AM 4/2/2007) JDM INSPIRED: it would bolt on into your stock ex knuckles but if you want to use the bigger rotors which is 11.1 from itr then you need to have the 5 lug pattern rotors redrilled into 4 lug pattern
(11:42 AM 4/2/2007) sk8shorty012: hmm...
(11:42 AM 4/2/2007) sk8shorty012: its not that I dont trust you or anything, its just id hate to pull my current setup apart to find out this wont work.
(11:46 AM 4/2/2007) JDM INSPIRED: r u going to use the itr rotors???
(4:03 PM 4/2/2007) sk8shorty012: nah - 10.3" rotors / ex knuckle / itr caliper
(4:49 PM 4/2/2007) JDM INSPIRED: should be fine cause if you do some research around this forum...there are lots of people using these calipers for upgrade...and there are lots of info to tell you how to do it...
(6:03 PM 4/2/2007) sk8shorty012: alrighty, ill do some searching... thanks
But then, this thread (https://honda-tech.com/zerothre...66598) says differently, and a good friend of mine also (brakexpert) says the brackets need to be machined. Whats the real deal?

Re: ITR calipers on a EJ8... *need confirmed answers* (sk8shorty012)
yea I would also like to see the step buy step process if anyone has any pictures I have full gsr suspension front and rear and I have to get new rotors so im intrested in seeing exactly what caliper which rotor and which bracket people are using I guess im lucky Because my friend owns a body shop and he has 2 acura lengend front calipers with the brackets, but I wanna see someone else who has already done it already. Ive heard of more people using the prelude rotor so im sticking to that idea but the legend caliper is dual piston. so why would i use a itr caliper shouldnt i just use the legend caliper shave the brackets down to fit my gsr knuckle and then re drill the prelude rotor to a 4x100 i mean I could be wrong thats why Im asking 2 it would only make sense that 2 piston will work better than 1 Even with all this work ive seen itr with slotted rotors with NSX calipers and there direct Fit so I know anything is possible just need the right info from someone who has done the actual work not someone who paid to have it done.

Needs to be machined
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1811368
The reason being is the hub is spaced differently from the knuckle between the two.

Re: ITR calipers on a EJ8... *need confirmed answers* (slvrcvc93)
The only setup I've seen confirmed is ITR calipers 23T bracket on a CX/DX (9.5") front knuckles with a 10.3" front rotor.
EDIT:
Actually, you could call Fastbrakes and ask them how much modification is needed to the braket to fit VW corrado rotors (11.1")
