Default intercooler to big???

my friend wants to sell me his intercooler its 28x7x3
Im only making 205whp with a d15b w/small 16g turbo, is there such thing as having to big of an intercooler? right now i have a dsm side mount. and want to go bigger, but the one my friends selling is huge! would his intercooler effect spool time/hp if used on my car???

I would imagine that have to move X amount of air through a bigger intercooler would be easier then pushing it throgh a snaller one, causing it to spool fatser, but im a newbie so theres also that possibility that im missing some factor and could be way off with that thought.

ya, i dont think it will mess with hp, but the only think i can think of, is that it will possibly be laggier

im kno a lil bit about boost cuz im boosted, but i could be wrong...but bigger intercooler (bgger than needed anyways) creates turbo lag and you will lose boost

And the underhood temps will go up too, which is why lots of turbo setups overheat.

Yep, you will get a bit more lag as it has more area to pressurize but it will give you room to grow.

From all the turbo setups that I USED to have on my other hatch...the one that seemed to work best was the PWR unit. Bigger FMIC doesn't always mean it's gonna help out on making power.
