Is it neccessary to have a rediculously big intercooler
I see people with 8-11 tall intercoolers...tell me that its overkill for 300hp. I was thinking of using one 26x5.5x3 - what will that support?

Re: Is it neccessary to have a rediculously big intercooler (turbociviccoupe)
lol i guess i should ask....what guidelines should i go by for sizing my intercooler
example...300cubic inches for X hp
If anyone knows.
Also could you explain why its worse to have it oversized?

Well most places that sell them have a hp rating on them..If your only planning on making 300hp or so, you dont really need that big of an intercooler.Maybe 20something inches by 6" tall by 3" deep.Something like that.
Edit i reread your OP and it sounds like the IC you picked sounds perfect.

The cheap ones are designed bad, so all the hot air up top won't be getting cooled anyway.
