Intake Mani on z6
ok i got an obx IM (i know it is an obx so dont flame on it) thay i picked up yesterday. Well i installed it and now my car wont idel properly. it jumps from 1k to 2k and back to 1k, over and over again. The car drives fine but just wont idel right. i replaced the TB gasket and everything is bolted down nice and tight. All of the sensors are in the correct place, and my check engine light dose not come on. Could it be the gasket that bolts up to the head? or maybe something else? also my car is runniong pretty rich now but only at idel. PLease help!!

checked that and it is fine. All of the sensors are working properly. I had my mechanic look at it and he was just as confused as me.

i dont think that there is any air in the coolong system cause it dose not over heat or anything, actually the car runs colder.

Re: (m3dia_lab)
well with the butt dyno there seems to be a small gain at about 3600-4000 rpm, and then it just pulls nicely once vtec kicks in. And plus it sounds alot better and i get a cool hissing sound from my intake. The only down side is that i have to run a short ram now, and i have to relocate my FPR cause the mani is SOO big. But other than that it was worth the money. But dose any one have any suggestions on what my problem is with my idel?

Definately sounds like a vaccum leak to me. Get a hose, put it in your ear and use it as a stethescope to listen around all of the edges of the intake mani where air could be leaking out.

i used carb cleaner and just sprayed around all of the edges to find a leak. Found one by the TB and i got a new gasket for it. And that helped it a little bit cause befor the revs would jump to like 3K!! and i could not spray under the intake manifold cause i cant get my hand under there to spray any.
