Default Intake Air Temperature Sensor Location

i recently purchased a resistor that is supposed to provide gains up to 20 hp when inserted into the Intake Air Temperature Sensor clip- however, there are about 4 harnesses hooked up to the intake manifold and i'm having a trouble locating which harness this is. Any thoughts?
Also, is there any websites that I can find parts to link my laptop to my computer to modify the chip/ processor? (want to upgrade my performance as cheap as possible.)
Lastly, how do I turn off the regulator, my engine cuts out at about 6k RPMs and it isn't even redlining.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

hmm which motor do you have?

my b16a IAT sensor is located right on the IM, on top of the first injector like so:

it should be the one with 2 wires to it....i forgot the colors.

Yea and whoever is feeding you this garbage about "20 hp gains" is full of crap.

Your IAT sensor should be located on the top of your intake mani as shown in the pic or somewhere in that vicinity.

Ohh and could you explain how you would insert anything into the sensor? Just curious?!

Your IAT is located on your stock black rubber hose between the throttle body and the air box where the filter is. There is a sensor there that you can unclip and pull out. To stick in the resistor, just bend it into a U shape and insert each end into it's respective hole.

NOTE: You WILL get worse gas mileage because your engine thinks its needs more gas to combust a lower temperature air. You however, WILL NOT notice any difference in power. If you do, it's all in your head. Just don't even worry about it.

Buy an intake or something and stop spending your money on crap that doesn't work. Yes, the idea makes sense. No, it doesn't work.

If you want to really try this, go to home depot or your local hardware store and purchase what is called a potentionometer. It allows you to control the resistance and tune the sensor's resistance to whatever you'd like. The greater the resistance, the lower the ECU thinks the temp is and the more gas it will mix with the same amount of air.

Bought the "resistor" Scam way back when. Advice: don't do it!! Its garbage.

I figured it was a scam. I didn't notice a damn thing -as you said.

You have to put the two ends of the resistor into the wire harness thus making a loop out of the entire circuit.

The IAT sensor is underneath the intake manifold, on the drivers side.

And I am with the other guys, no 20hp increase with some resistor trick.

You were right for a Y8, but that starts in '96.

The Y7 has the IAT on the bottom half of the air box, underneath the air filter.

The LS IAT should be machined and bolted to the cirlced pad. This one is shown unmachined.
