Default What is the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor for?

What is the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor for? im having problems with my car and i dont have that plugged so im wondering if that would matter.

Yes it tells your ecu the intake air temperature which then bases the a/f ratio.

you need the IAT connected and in the intake air stream....either in the intake tube or on an intake mani runner.

what else is unplugged on your car?

Intake Air Temperature Sensor. I wonder what thats for?

Wait I got it!!!! Reading the Temperature the Air flowing through your Intake so the ecu can make slight fuel adjustments for varying temperatures. That was a tough question.

why is anything unplugged, out of curiosity? what engine management are you using?

well im running a stock p73, the o2 and the IAT on the intake manni is unplugged because it has different plugs and i didnt repin it to the correct plug

Wow, no IAT sensor or oxygen sensors? That's a good way to suck fuel like a Hummer and speed up this global warming thing, cause I gotta say, it's taking way too long to destroy the planet.
