Installing a shift boot
First of all, this is for a 97 civic ex coupe.
I ordered a JDM Civic type-r shoft boot, and I was wondering how hard it would be to install. I assume that since it is from honda of japan, it will probably require me to remove the plastic surrounding the stock shift boot and stuff like that.
Has anyone here installed one??
If you guys could just let me know what to expect, since it might not come with instructions, or they might be in japanese.
Thanks!!

Re: Installing a shift boot (Briman2021)
You have to take out a few screws and that's about it....it's pretty simple all you need is 1 phillips screw driver of standard size. (magnetic head will help though)
Your just removing the plastic panels.

Re: Installing a shift boot (Briman2021)
an oem CTR shift boot should come with a metal frame that mounts in the stock location under the plastic. so installation is merely removing shift ****, plastic counsel and metal frame.

I wanted to know what to expect since it is pretty cold here in minnesota, and I didnt want to find out i needed a weird tool after freezing my *** off in my un-heated garage.
