INSTALLED WATER TEMP. SENSOR...WHAT? NO SPARK!!
I'VE INSTALLED GLOW SHIFT WATER TEMP. AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGES(TWO MONTHS AGO) THAT SIT NICELY IN THEIR PODS...RAN RESPECTED WIRES, BUT HAVENT GOT AROUNG TO INSTALLING THE SENSORS UNTIL EARLIER(YESTERDAY EVENING)...AS THE WATER TEMP. SENSOR AWAITED ITS BED IN THE NICE SPOT I HAD PICKED OUT ON THE TOP RADIATOR HOSE-TO-HEAD 'NECK', I BEGAN THE DIASSEMBLY, DRAINED COOLANT, DISCONNECTED HOSES, UNBOLTED THE NECK, DRILLED AND TAPPED THE OPENING, CLEANED THE BORE AND BEGAN RE-ASSEMLY, WIRED IT UP...EVERYTHING TURNED OUT NICELY
BUT THERE WAS A PROBLEM(IT SEEMS THERES ALWAYS A LITTLE SPICE IN THE MIX WHEN YOU PREPARE FOR A SMOOTH TURN-OUT)...THE CAR WONT FIRE...PULLED #1 PLUG, GROUNDED TO VALVE COVER, NO SPARK!!
SO HERE I GO DIVING IN TO DIAGNOSE, AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT MAY HAD BEEN A FUSE...SEEING THAT I WAS LISTENING TO THE RADIO WHILE WORKING(THE IGNITION WAS TURNED ACC.) IN MY THINKING, WIRING GAUGE CIRCUITRY ISNT GOING TO INTERFEAR WITH ANYTHING BEING THAT IT HAS ITS OWN RESPECTED WIRES(+ ->TO UNDER-DASH FUSE PANEL, GROUND ->TO ENGINE BAY,SENSOR WIRE -> SENSOR) AND ILLUMINATION(LIGHTING) WHICH I RAN OFF THE RADIO POWER.
IVE CHECKED MOST FUSES THAT I THOUGHT MIGHT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED, RUN A TEST LIGHT OVER THE DISTRIBUTOR(CHECKS OUT FINE) I HAVE NOTICED A BREAK IN ONE OF THE DITRIBUTOR WIRES ON THE CONNECTOR(HARNESS SIDE) ITS A BLUE WIRE THAT HAS BEEN THAT WAY SINCE DAY ONE, WHEN MICHEAL TOWNSEND SOLD ME THE CAR.(BUILT BY MAIN STREAM)
ANY HELP/IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, SEEING THAT THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A '91 ACCORD/MY CRUTCH CAR...THE B18C1/B16A2 HI REVING, DEALS GAP DREAM-CAR IS MY FAVORITE AND MOST EXCITING TO DRIVE.
