Yea thats not a smart spot if it rains at all where you live. Your better off relocating it to your trunk.

Are sealed batteries water resistant? I don't plan to drive the car in the rain (it's not a daily driver). I's rather have the weight up front then in the back. I could most likely fab up an enclosure to keep it from getting wet.

I can't think of a single benefit to putting the battery in that spot. Either leave it in the stock location, or move it towards the rear (though try not to place it too far behind the rear wheels).

Cleaner bay / more weight in the front. Maybe the dash will be a better option

If your going to relocated it put it in the trunk.

In the dash? I think this against every regualtion at every track. I guess if you never go to the track it wouldnt b=matter but then again moving the weight around would only matter if you raced so...

Well damn. Maybe I should get a smaller battery, leave it in the OEM location, make it look good, and call it a day

This car will be tracked for pleasure, damn sure not building it to hard park

The car will be gutted / painted & cleared on the inside and don't care to have the battery in plain view.

Tony1 here on H-T makes custom brackets like that. Doing it like this is more of a drag only type deal because it puts more weight on the front which could help with wheel hop. Putting the batt. in the back will balance out the weight (although corner weighing is the only way to really know if your good or not). Dont put the batt. in the dash, if you need a jump what are you going to do? Is this a street car or a track only car?

The more weight you put behind the rear wheels, the more momentum will be traveling outward during hard cornering.

Do this: Take a baseball bat and swing it as hard as you can like you're going to hit a ball with it. Do that once or twice. Then take a 5 pound weight and connect it and swing the bat again. Feel the difference. It will feel as it the bat wants to pull itself from your hands. Same concept

Basically, the more mass you have located far from the vehicle's center (or "pole"), the greater the negative impact it will have on handling.

It's also one of the reasons why having the battery in the location shown above is a poor idea.

You could also get one of those smaller batteries and mount it in the spare tire well.

That's what i'd do.

But I really don't see the problem with leaving it in it's stock position, most track officially prefer it there with the stock bracket.

You can make it look clean, just get some jdm tie downs or something.

not to say if you have your bat in the front it would be easy to disconnect for a thief...

i wouldnt put it under my dash but if u do get it put in a had to reach spot get some remote terminals from jegs or some place

Yeah, traction sucks!!

I've had the car up and running from Sept.15 until middle of December. The car saw no rain

Anyone else with info on the bumper trays would be helpful

You dont need the battery if your going for a jump start. Put red cable on the batt post of the starter. Put the ground anywhere on the body. Jump car and the alt should do the rest. Now if the alt is dead then yea not much you could do but take off the bumper and take the battery to get replaced and checked.

I can't even remember the last time I needed a jump. May have been someone else in need of a jump....It's been at least 8-10 years

Hopefully SummitRacing has the Odyssey tray on display so I can get some pics / dimensions to make this piece
