I'm wondering whats causing a code 14 and how to fix it?
So I have a code 14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve. I was wanting to know how I could probably fix it. Thanks for any help.

Alot of times the thing you have to do is replace the cat and 02. Sad thing is you have to get them form the manufacture. But most of the time it fixes the problem. If you buy after market 02s the ohms/ resistance is wrong then signals get crossed or the psm thinks its running rich and your nox could go up. It is a real problem with JDM motors. How do you know it is a code 14. Like the other post says A mistake could be made. There ARE ALOT OF SMOG SHOPS THAT WILL PASS YOU WITH codes stored since it is obd1. Just shop around and ask. I have fixed this problem more then once. But it ended up most of the time with cat and 02 being replaced.

I replaced the cat with a used stock cat and the nox went down a little but other numbers went up a little and i don't want to spend $900 on a new stock cat if it doesn't fix it. I think i do have an aftermarket O2 though. And i'm going through the BAR so i need to fix it and they were the ones who told me it was a code 14.

Sadly you will have to replace the cat with a new one from Honda. If you bought a used one why was it for sale? It probably was bad and needed to be replaced. What ref did you go to I went to the one in san jac and he was cool. He helped me alot with my supercharger.

I saw the car it came from. it was rearended and so he is parting it. it only had 145,000 miles. hes willing to give me part of my money back so its cool. I went to the same one in san jacinto. they weren't cool to me though. They told me how bad japanese motors are and other stuff. last time i went they went as bad but still.
I would go and buy a new stock cat if i knew it would solve the problem but i have a feeling it wont.

Yeah iam so sure thats why the engine light didnt come on for code 2,63,67.
Fix the code 14 first, try what link dude posted above then if a problem remains, start on that

I think the problem is his nox is high and I could be messing up threads. Yes he should get the IAC code problem fixed but what about the NOx. If he GP-ed on NOx. What makes NOx high? Heat, NOx gets real bad above 2500 deg. So a jap motor has higher compression in turn heat rises and NOx increases. There are many other problems that can increase NOx. But one of the big problems is fuel control. A cat that has cleaned for a 145,000 miles is most likely bad or weak.

I messed up that is not why his light is on. He might have a problem with his IAC. I should have read my own post before I posted it.
