I'm planning a swap...anyone have an H22?
I'm going to get '92-'95 coupe civic, and I'm planning a H22 swap. I know it will be expensive and it will take a lot of work, but in the end I think it will be worth it. I started talking to this guy the other day, and he said he would go b16, but he was a little impartial i think. So, i guess what i'm looking for here is a second opinion, let me know what you think if you have a H22 or if you think you know something better.
Also, that guy was telling me that there is a difference in the weight or body or something between the 92-93 and the 94-95 bodys, is that true?

do what ever your pocket can handle, if you got the money to do a h22 you might as well do a k20 around the same price after eveything said and done. My opinion is to go gsr the best motor honda ever made you can go all motor or boost. and they pull hard, not really expensive either. thats my opinion though.

H22 swaps are wAAAAAY cheaper than k20 swaps. heck, they're even cheaper than b18r swaps

Re: I'm planning a swap... (RX7racer0)
what about the weight difference of the 92-93 and 94-95, is that true? Also, I would still like an opinion from someone who has an H22 civic.

gives or takes, but its mainly based on Model, cx, dx, hx are the lightest. lightest of lightest will be cx
next is: si, and ex
h22 swap is the cheapest swap compares to b-series swap, can't compare to k-series (cost like at least 5 initially for k?), excluding ls, rs, gs

Re: I'm planning a swap... (GsR-Freak)
so, it doesent matter what year? I didn't think that guy knew what he was talking about. Still looking for an opinion from someone w/ a H22, what do ya think?

it doesnt really matter which year, CX is really the lightest, The H22 should run you about 5000 dollars installed. It weighs about 100 more pounds and sits more forward than the b series swaps, but everyone Ive talked to that has one is happy with it.

Re: (numbnuts22715)
I had an H22 delslow for a couple months.
Goddamn do I miss that thing.
You can find an H22 for $1500-2000 easily.
Install, depends on the shop.
Do it for sure.

Yeah, sounds like fun! I'm planning to swap a k20a into a Del Sol as soon as I have the funds, comes with a 6-speed tranny too...kinda expensive, but I heard they are great motors. Do you think that would be a good swap? By the way, what's a gsr swap? If it's an engine, specs?
(Oh and for everyone that's going to flame me *equips flame suit*, I'm very new at car tuning and just starting out, but I know how to drive lol...)

Actually, that's what i'm going to do, turbo. I plan on buying a cheap civic, like under 2gs and swap the motor and turbo it. I'm hoping it will be pretty sweet. Keep this thread going let me know what you think.

By the way, you swap sounds good, not for me, but hey, do what you want. And a gsr swap comes from a gsr integra, it's good too, but it's all a preferance thing. If you go to totaljdm.com it will give you some reasonable prices and all the specs of the engines.

Re: (RX7racer0)
Your power to weight ratio would be pretty sweet. Keep in mind though, the AC and PS issues with swapping an H22 into that chassis. Either way, best of luck to you.

I'm planning on having the money, but I would rather have an H22.
What about the AC and PS issues, I haven't heard anything about that yet?

Well the k20a is extremely expensive, and doesn't really have that much more power than an h22a-s. I am thinking of doing an h22a-s now...since I've looked at it a bit on totaljdm.com...I really think it's preference though.

k20s run like mid 12s in a eg and h22 barely can hit a mid 13.

Re: I'm planning a swap...anyone have an H22? (e jay one)
i think i'd rather keep the AC and PS, expecially the AC, i live in Fl, just around the corner from the surface of the sun! jk, but it does get damn hot.
Are there any other issues that are out there that I should know about first?
