Re: h22 swap into a 1996 civic
I'm looking to put the 92-95 prelude swap into my hatchback

I'm going to go with the LSD and you think there's a big difference between the Type S H22 compared to the 92-95 h22. It's 1100 more and all i see is a 20+hp and 6 tq difference is it really worth paying the 1100 more and the compression is 11.0 compared to the 92-95 10.6

Re: h22 swap into a 1996 civic
I was doing some bathroom reading and found out about the terrible auto tensioner on the h22. I'm definitely going to convert it to the manual tensioner. Any other pointers i should know?

if your going with the lsd just be aware that the axles are different than the non lsd ones. i have ordered my hasport mounts as well as hasport axles. hasport says their axles are designed to work with both applications but they dont believe their axles will work with other companies mount kits.
i tried searching other kits such as avid and innovative but any responses i got said they all vibrate quite a bit hasport uses 62 durometer bushings and thats the softest ive found.

In my opinion the type s isn't worth it, with the extra money you could buy a nice header and some other bolt on and surpass that 20hp difference. As far as the auto tensioner I've been running my h for almost 3 years with no problem but if you want the extra insurance go for it.
As far as other pointers go ahead and pick up a resistor box when you order the engine if you plan on keeping the stock injectors in and be prepared for a good bit of wiring if you do the swap yourself.

Not sure about that, My Euro R dynoed higher numbers than built h22s around my area. And I have quicker track times. Consistantly 1.5 seconds quicker than a built H22 civic that Ive ran against. I guess when Honda builds a HOT motor, They do it right.

That's the first thing I was going to mention when I saw he was looking at the Type-S swap. Glad someone else caught that

I went through the same axle variations when I did my swap. I ultimatley went with 90-93 integra ls axle with a 90-97 Accord halfshaft on the left side and 90-93 integra ls with a 90-97 Accord inner joint on the right side. Worked perfect. And I beat the crap out of it.
