Im lost...Charging problem.
Ok, im ******* clueless at this point... My car wont charge at a steady voltage. It will sit at like 12.6volts for a while then jump to like 14 then go down to 13 then back down to 12.5 then back up to 14 and so on... So i figured the alternator was going to ****.
I put in a brand new alternator, replaced a couple of the main ground wires and it didnt fix a damn thing... i actually think it got worse.
What the hell else could it be? the only thing i can think of is something in the wiring harness. What do you think? im clueless at this point.
Car is a 97 Civic Ex 5 Speed

Re: Im lost...Charging problem. (MR_EJ8)
hmm.. im having the same problem in my 92 civic si (jdm b18c engine). Somtimes it works perfectly and somtimes it doesnt charge. If i wiffle the 4 alternator wires (plug on the alt.) i can see the voltage jump up & down from 12 to 14.4.
i havent tried changing the alternator yet. I figured it was my wiring, since i changed the plug from obd1 to obd2
