Default I'm going to be getting an EK soon, can you give me some info...

I have an EF right now but the rust on it is just killing it and frankly its not worth it anymore. So I'm parting that out and getting an EK and making it in the spirit of my EF basically.

What I know I want a hatchback primarily but if I go coupe I will have to get an Si. What should I expect to pay for a 96-00 hatchback and 99-00 Si. Also what differences are there between years. I know tail lights or something from 96-96 and 99-00 are different. What other little things are there.

Did the hatchbacks since they came only in DX or lesser have any power options, windows, locks?

96-98 had Red/yellow clear tialights

99-00 had red/clear taillights

96-98 had a goofy front end

99-00 had a good looking front end

96-98 have a differant HVAC setup than 99-00 99-00 looks better IMO

Hatches cam in DX and CX, coupes came in Dx, Ex, Hx, Si (99-00)

Hatches as far as i know didn't have power anything, and no sunroof for hatches.

Si coupes had a front lip, Diff guage cluster, differant seat patterns w/ Teg headrests, a mesh grille, B16a2, only came in manual, side skirts were painted to match and a few more things.

I would get a 99 Si over any other Ek bodyed civic i am biased but i like the 99 Si's better than the 2000's. Trunks are cool

Si's go anywhere from 8k-25k depending on what they are.

Hatches i have see go as low at 2k

anything else?

hatchback did not come with any power options. The only luxury features that came in the hatchback are some have A/C and I have seen some with a Moon Roof.

The differences between the 96-98 and 99-00 other the exterior is on the inside of 99-00 civic it is all digital. LIke the button to all the vents and all.

OK I think I'm going to try and get a 99-00 Si or hatchback. Hatchback probably because I want it to be cheap.

my favorite part is that 99-00 has all electronic buttons on the inside, including the AC controls which are manual on 96-98

What I want are stock vehicles, so I'm not paying $25k for any Si. I just want to know value for stockers.

I disagree. I think the 96-98 look alot more jdm than the 99. They both look good but the 96-98 just takes a true lover to like it. 99-00 is so common now-a-days its rediculous. Almost as bad as all the b-series motors.

Good luck with the new ride though! I love mine

Considering what I have now has manual everything I won't cry over a car having manual a/c controls, my car doesn't even have A/C!

Do you guys have pictures of 96-97s and 99-00 Hatchbacks so I can see the difference.

Also I hear the 99-00s are really hard to find.

What engines came in these vehicles and how much HP do they make. I can't afford an engine swap anytime soon so I have to deal with the painfully slow engine until I can afford a swap.
