Ignition Timing problem! Help me! B17 w/ jdm b16 head
Ok well i did my timing and forgot to jump ecu service plug after i went to smog it they tried to check my timing it said it was tooo far retarded but was running fine. Today i go to fix it i check my timing with the service plug jumped and the marks show that my timing is at least 20-30 degress BTDC which i dont think is possible.
I move my distributor back to retard it and it only goes to like 24 degress still too advanced.
I leave my dizzy midway and now my car is boggin as if the timing's retarded.
so idk whats the problem what could it be?

When you change heads on an engine you sometimes need a different timing belt; did you use the correct one? Are you sure the mechanical timing is set correctly?

Re: Ignition Timing problem! Help me! B17 w/ jdm b16 head
the motor was built by me no problems
i spent like an hour doing the mechanical timing
im sure it i messed up it would have messed up from the get go
my car runs fine besides the slight bogging
it just doesnt show what the timin is at the pulley
if it were advanced as much as it says from the timing light
im pretty sure i would have pinging up the ****
i just noticed the timing being off when i took it to the smog shop
it run fine then
i just wanted to make sure i set it right and changed it today
