about $100 for parts. for labor it all depends on where you go. this is an easy job that you can do on the weekend. save some money and learn at the same time!

Should be a pretty easy install.

Depending on the condition of the one you're going to replace, you could shank some parts from a junkyard instead.

Ignition switch new from a dealer is about $80-85. Installation is pretty easy (make sure you disconnect the battery first!).

I have an extra one laying around from my 00 EX. Let me know if you're interested

what's wrong with your ignition switch? if its crapping out on you, try contacting honda because they had a recall on these for the 97-2000 civic. I had mine replaced for free about a year ago.

if you think they're lying, try calling another dealership just to make sure.

I doubt it, it's only a selective range of VINs. I checked mine before too just for preventative measures and didn't get the go-ahead either.

ON CERTAIN SEDANS, COUPES, HATCHBACKS, AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, ELECTRICAL CONTACTS IN THE IGNITION SWITCH CAN DEGRADE DUE TO THE HIGH ELECTRICAL CURRENT PASSING THROUGH THE SWITCH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED.

WORN CONTACTS COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 14, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT HONDA AT 1-800-999-1009 OR ACURA AT 1-800-382-2238.

CUSTOMERS CAN ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
