if is low on oil, is it ok to fill it up with new oil instead of the whole new oil change process?

if is low on oil, is it ok to fill it up with new oil instead of the whole new oil change process?
car is 96 ej8 5speed stock d16y8, recently I checked my oil level and is 1/4 above the first line, i know 2nd line is max. so is it ok to refill it with new oil?

Yes its fine just dont overfill and try to use same oil as is in it.

a common solution? if the engine is burning oil.. you're going to have to add oil to it. you shouldnt run an engine on low oil.. that'll promote engine wear
