Default idle problems! b18 in 96 civic

not really for sure whats wrong with my idle but here's the problem...
on cold start up the car will automatically idle high at 1500 rpm's but ALSO bounce from i'd say 1500 rpms to 1800 rpms then back up and down constantly, etc. however, when the car reaches warmup temperature, the idle suddenly falls at once and wants to idle terribly low, sometimes so low that it will just die...remember, this is just AFTER the car is warm. the car was boosted when i first bought it and it did not have the bouncing idle on startup, but after removing the kit it started that. i'm running an obd I motor off an obd II wiring harness and have the obd II to obd I conversion harness running to a p06 ecu which i think MIGHT possibly be my problem. i was told the ecu is chipped and socketed running on a basemap, so i'm thinking the basemap might be **** since i'm not running boost anymore! anyone else ever had this problem or know what could be causing it?? i'd like to figure it out because it's really embarrassing when i'm sitting at a red light and my car is trying to immitate a cammed out v8 without the growl! ha. i just don't want to waste a lot of money buying parts that MIGHT fix it when someone might be able to quickly solve my problem. thanks!

try to turn you idle screw on the throttle body out a bit at a time after it warms up. as far as the fluctuating idle on start up try unplugging the iacv on the back of the intake manifold and if it does nothing it could be bad.
