Quick question... I've got a Y8 head and IM on my Y7 block with a Y7 TB. I've got an idle problem... I've checked the vacuum lines and they're all correct. It idles around 1400 rpm and doesn't have any hesitation sometimes.
The check engine light has recently come on after I switched out a Z6 IM for the Y8 IM and now it runs in that crappy safety mode.
Any suggestions on what it'd be? I thought I'd ask people here first.

Check the code and find out what's wrong. And before you ask how to..check that little search button up at the top right and search for how to reset a CEL. You can also check out the FAQ thread at the very top of the forum. I know it's in there.

I've reset the ECU, but the CEL will come back on after about an hour of driving. I thought I'd ask to see if anyone had any ideas. Thanks though.

Are you using a Y8 ECU?

Are you using the Y7 IACV?

If you said "yes" to both, that is your problem; 2 & 3-wire IACV's are not interchangable.

I'm not using a Y8 ECU. I do have the Y7 IACV, but I had the Y8 IM installed by a shop so I assume they used the Y8 IACV. I'll have to ask them.
