Idle, Overheating, Heater Problem (Searched)
Today I was driving my car to work and i noticed that at idle it almost sounded like i had a vacuum leak. Then I get about halfway to work and i notice that my temperature gauge is alot higher then normal and it is also fluctuating alot. The third thing i realized was that my heater was not blowing hot air only cold air. brrr

I did some research and ive been told the fluctuating idle and temp problems might be either a temperature sensor failure or low coolant. I also searched Honda-tech and came up with a possible blown headgasket but i havent noticed any smoke or anything like that recently.
Before i go and try to fix what ever might be wrong with my car i just wanted to see what the general opinion of the people on Honda-tech was

I agree. I had the same problem. When you first start your car take off the radi cap and look for constant bubbles. If there are bubbles it is a bad HG.

Yea when you first start it and the motor is cold! Most people know this but if you take the radiator cap off when the motors hot you can get burned. I think it would be the termostat if theres no sign of headgasket damage.

thanks for the info. Would a blown HG cause the heat not too work in my car as well. My heater was blowing nice hot air untill all of this happened recently

Well if your thermostat goes out i know that it can make your heat not work at all sometimes. but also when your heater core goes out it does the same. I'm not sure but since the heater core is involved with the over all cooling system you might want to research the symtoms of a bad heater core.

thank you everyone. Honda-tech alway points me in the right direction.

my lower radiator hose had a small tear in it and i had not noticed antifreeze puddles cause its so damn wet out here. Replaced the hose gave it new coolant and it fixed every single one of the issues (rough idle after warm up, no heat and my wacky temp. gauge)
thanks
